Patsy Glynn Swanner passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on April 1, 1940, in Upshur County, Texas to William Matthew Steelman and Grace Lantrip Steelman.
Patsy married Charles Lee Swanner on September 5, 1958 and together they owned and operated Swanner's Burgers. She was a member of the Baptist faith and most recently attended Rosewood Baptist Church.
Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and is survived by her loving family. Survivors include son, Brent Swanner and wife Tammy, daughter, Kristi Anderson and husband Lonnie, grandchildren, Mathew Derrick and wife Nicki, Lacey McKenzie, Miranda Grace Williamson and husband Logan, Vanessa Abigail Watkins and husband Dustyn, Laurie Gunnels and husband Bobby, and Stephanie Dowd and husband Patrick, and her loving great-grandchildren, Caeden, Miles, Carley, Gage, Noah, Lexi, Aspen, Lee, Hawkins, Remi Jo, Beretta, Tuff, Wyatt, Jintri Grace, Mayzie Glynn, and Malee along with one special niece, Janice Dugger
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Lee Swanner, brothers, Huel Dean Steelman and Billy Gene Steelman, and her twin sister, Betty Lynn Preston.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. A funeral service will take place the following day, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Croley Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for the service will be Paul Steelman, Clay Steelman, Clint Steelman, Jerry Dugger, Bodie Dugger, and Paul Smith. With Randy Preston and Tim Thompson serving as honorary Pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend a great appreciation to the Wesley House Memory Care Unit, Traditions Hospice, and Jessica Garcia for their loving care of Mrs. Patsy.
