Mrs. Patricia Sue "Patsy" Waddle Williams, 87, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 at her residence. She was born May 14, 1937 in Belmont to A.J. and Vivian Harris Waddle. Patsy earned a degree in Education from Delta State University where she met Spencer, her husband of 64 years. Patsy enjoyed a long, successful career in education. She retired from Grenada High School after 29 years in the classroom. She was a devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada where she was actively involved in the Hope Sunday School Class. In her spare time, Patsy was an avid golfer and a skilled Bridge player.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada with Dr. Brent Barker and Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Interment will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Spencer Williams; two daughters, Cindy Williams Ponder(Rusty) of Brandon and Connie Williams French of Ridgeland; sister, Lucretia Alexander(Jack) of Belmont; and five grandchildren, Rustin Ponder(Sydney), Karlee Sirko(Bobby), Reed Ponder, Katie Pendleton(Daniel) and Sarah Simmons(Davis).
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Van Alexander, Daniel Pendleton, Reed Ponder, Rustin Ponder, Davis Simmons and Bobby Sirko will honor Patsy by serving as pallbearers and carry her to her rest in the Oddfellows Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
