Patti Lynn Elder passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 2, 2025 after a year long battle with lung cancer. She was born on June 5, 1956, the daughter of the late Bobbi Abrahamian (Hopewell, Virginia) and the late Eugene Bailey (Birmingham, Alabama). Her personal life was full of love and joy, shared by her loving husband, George Elder III; her daughters, Gena Dimock (Matthew), Angie Peterson, and Carrie Bralczyk (Joe); grandchildren, Jami Burchell, Rev. Fr. Matthew Dimock, Matthew McDermott, Alyssa Sherrill (Will), Kylie Bralczyk , Rachel Dimock, and Gavin Bralczyk. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters, Sandra Aldridge and Christy Adams; and she is survived by her sister, Teresa Still Smith. 

Patti spent many years teaching students Drivers Ed at Thomas Dale High school. After obtaining a degree at Key Business College, she went into apartment management. She was a devoted apartment assistant manager and manager for many years, and retired from the Rohoic Woods Apartment community December of 2022. Patti loved spending time with her family. Her generosity shined most through her love of cooking and caring for family, friends and strangers alike. Even while battling cancer, she was cooking for others and delivering food and love to those in need. Patti was an active member of Western Heights Baptist Church, in Dinwiddie, and loved singing in the choir. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park’s Mausoleum, S. Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Western Heights Baptist Church, N. Dinwiddie, VA, www.westernheightsbaptistchurch.org/give
