A celebration of life for Paul Albrecht Sr., 81, of Paige, Texas, is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Paige Community Center in Paige, Texas. Bar-B-Que will be provided for the meal. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings, Texas. The family will be present for visitation on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Paul Emil Albrecht was one of seven children born to Emil and Frieda (Saegert) Albrecht. He was born on November 14, 1943, in Giddings, Texas. He was baptized on December 30, 1943, and later confirmed on April 14, 1957, both at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas. During his marriage to Linda Lay Kovar, from May 14, 1966 to July 26, 1993, they had two children that he loved so well. He was united in marriage to Boydeen Wilcox on January 21, 1998. Paul served honorably in the National Guard for many years. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for forty years eleven months and twenty-five days, a fact that he would let anyone know after his retirement. Paul then went to work for ACE Hardware in Giddings for seven years before completely retiring. He was a member of a few different organizations over the years including, the United Postal Workers Union and "NALC" National Association of Letter Carriers. Paul was also a member of a few different bowling teams over the years playing in the men's league, mixed doubles, and on a team with all the Albrecht brothers. When he wasn't working Paul enjoyed working his cattle, playing softball, cooking Bar-B-Que for his family, friends and weddings. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, playing volleyball and washers, cooking in chili cookoffs, going to family gatherings and taking care of his family.
Paul passed away in the evening of July 2, 2025, at his home in Paige.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Frieda Albrecht; two siblings, Leroy Albrecht, and Robert Albrecht; brother-in-law, Franklin Richter and sister-in-law, Alice Albrecht; stepson, Jason Rhoades.
Paul is survived by his wife Boydeen Albrecht; two children, Melissa and husband Jammie Reed, Paul Jr. and wife Melissa Albrecht; stepson, Justin and wife Jennifer Rhoades; four siblings, Willard and wife Marjorie Albrecht, Katherine Richter, Milton and wife Geraldine Albrecht, and Alice and husband Allen Birnbaum; grandchildren, Jammie "Kirk" Reed and wife Sandra, Zachary Reed, Dalton Albrecht, and Cole Albrecht; step grandchildren, Mason Rhoades and Gavin Rhoades, Sierra and husband Colton Jobe, Aaryn Long, Awbrey Long and RJ Moya; great grandchildren, John Weston Jobe and Raymon Lane Moya, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
