Obituary published on Legacy.com by Orender Family Home on Nov. 20, 2025.
Paul Ronald Alders, born March 30, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at age 80. He spent his life dedicated to family, work, and human connection. He grew up in Brooklyn, later moved to Lakewood to start a family, spent a brief period in the Chicago suburbs for work, and eventually settled in Howell, New Jersey with his wife Roberta and their sons Jason and Eric. They lived in Howell for more than twenty years before Paul made Manchester, New Jersey his home for the last decade and a half.
His work life was one of constant reinvention. He began as a tradesman in Brooklyn, proudly served over five years in the United States Air Force, and then shifted his focus into sales, rising to national sales manager, becoming a partner, and ultimately founding Four Star Marketing, a nationally recognized sales agency. When that chapter ended, he used his remaining savings to help his son Eric pursue a childhood dream by launching The Karate Dojo in Jackson. After it later closed during COVID, he earned his real-estate license and took on driving as a side job, staying active and engaged.
Outgoing, unfiltered, funny, and a natural talker, he prided himself on being a "people person." He was known for an unmistakable infectious laugh, a sharp sense of humor, and an ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved storytelling, sarcasm, joking around, and slipping into the colorful dialect of his Brooklyn upbringing. His friendships ran deep-some dating back to childhood-and he maintained wide-ranging connections throughout his life. In recent months he reached out deliberately to reconcile and reconnect with many from his past.
He loved music, dancing, action movies, scuba diving in earlier years, keeping up with the news, and frequent trips to Atlantic City with friends. He kept meticulous lists, organized his movie collection with care, and privately journaled for decades. He held a lifelong sense of patriotism and pride in his country.
His greatest pride and joy was his family. He cherished his role as a father and "Pop Pop." Paul celebrated every accomplishment of his sons and grandchildren and shared their stories with anyone who would listen.
His marriage to Roberta, beginning in 1969, was never dull. It was built on laughter, adventure, love, and a lifetime of unforgettable stories. They danced, traveled, partied, and built a family where their sons-and later their grandchildren-never doubted how deeply they were loved.
Paul continued living independently and staying active with friends until illness set in earlier this year. He held onto his humor, his pride in his family, and his instinct to stay connected with the people he cared about.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; his sons, Jason and Eric; his daughters-in-law, Tiffany and Chelsea; his grandchildren, Mya, Jenna, Summer, Greyson, and Judah; and his sister, Doris Ebanks. He is predeceased by his parents, Paul Douglas Alders and Lucie Alders.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, resilience, and connection-a man who sacrificed for his family, valued people, and remained proud of his life and of the lives of those who carry him forward.
