Paul Louis Beaudreau, "Frenchie" of Lebanon, CT died on Thursday January 9, 2025. He was nearly 80 and had lived 18 years with cancer. Born March 26, 1945, in Worcester, Mass, he was the son of the late Louis A. Beaudreau and Olivine Gouin. Paul grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts. He achieved the highest scout award of Eagle Scout and graduated from trade school in June 1963. In 1966 Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam war as a helicopter door gunner. After his tour, he was honorably discharged and began his civilian life working at Pratt and Whitney as a technical engineer. He soon met and married the love of his life Helen (Grygorcewicz) in Wethersfield, CT and three years later welcomed the birth of their daughter, Sherry. Paul was known for his sense of humor, sarcastic wit, and colorful language. He was an avid fly fisherman and expert fly tier whose masterpieces and unique patents can be found on the CT Fly Fisherman's Association website and are specially featured in the curated journal, Art of Angling, and the rare print book, Forgotten Flies. His creativity extended to macrame, woodworking, and a lifelong love of jazz music. He also loved stamp and coin collecting, cars, gardening, playing pool and card games, progressive webcasts, and "a good beer." Paul will be forever loved and remembered by his beloved wife Helen, and her daughter Sherry Beaudreau and her partner Thomas G. Welles III along with his granddaughter Sadie Olive. He is survived by his eldest sister, Rita Berthiaume, and predeceased by his second eldest sister, Claire Sauvageau. He was the proud uncle to eleven nieces and nephews, and his pre-deceased nephew, Louie Berthiaume. Calling hours will be held at Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home on Friday, January 17th, 2025, from 11am to 12pm followed by a chapel service at the funeral home at 12pm. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery on Waterman Rd in Lebanon, CT. To share an online memories, condolences, or to sign the online guestbook please visit www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com
