Paul David Bednarowski, age 78, died in his home in Fairhope, AL the evening of October 19, 2022. He was surrounded by family members during a recitation of the Rosary.
Paul was born on March 29, 1944, in Neenah, WI to his parents, Paul August and Irene Mabel Smith Bednarowski. He was a resident of Menasha, WI throughout his teenage years. He attended the University of Wisconsin, and he graduated with a B.S. in Economics in 1966. It was in college that he met Lois Lewis Bednarowski, his wife of 56 years.
Following college, Paul began his employment with Scott Paper Company, later acquired by Kimberly Clark Corporation. Paul worked for the same company for 33 years until his retirement in December of 1999. During that time, he transferred several times between Detroit, MI, Glen Falls, NY, Mobile, AL, West Chester, PA, and finally back to Mobile in 1981, where he kept his residence in the Fairhope, AL area until his death.
Paul was a parishioner at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope for over 40 years. He served several terms on the parish council, and he was an active volunteer in many other church-based activities. One of those organizations was the St. Vincent DePaul Society, where he served for approximately 20 years including time as the Treasurer.
Paul was an avid golfer, and following his retirement, he worked at Quail Creek Golf Course for about 20 years. Paul had two holes in one in his lifetime. Among his other interests, Paul enjoyed investments and was a member of an investment club for several years. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed playing games with his family, especially the card game cribbage.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Irene Bednarowski. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois Bednarowski. He is also survived by his children, Katy (Tony) Madson, Sara Sullivan, Karen (Ronnie) Mullins, and Paul (Shannon) Bednarowski; grandchildren, Anthony Madson (30), Elizabeth Madson (22), Emily Madson (21), Emma Bednarowski (17), George Mullins (17), Lucy Mullins (15), Ellie Bednarowski (14), Mary Lois Sullivan (14), and Mae Mullins (12); siblings, Keith (Mary Farrell) Bednarowski and Thomas (Mary Flanagan) Bednarowski.
The funeral service will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, AL, Saturday, October 29. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, funeral mass at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the parish hall.

I am just seeing this obituary at the time of the funeral. We knew Paul from Scott Paper Company as we both retired from Scott in the 1990's for Dick to start a second career with Valmet, a paper machine manufacturing company. Paul was the first former Scott employee we saw when we moved to Fairhope in 2015 when we were shopping at Publix. He was such a nice man was well liked and respected at Scott. We know you take comfort in knowing he is now with our Lord Jesus Christ.
