Paul Beene Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home - Mount Pleasant on Apr. 9, 2023.
Paul Jack Beene, age 90, peacefully passed from this life to his Eternal Home in the early morning hours of April 7, 2023 at his residence in Mount Pleasant, TX. He was born on February 15, 1933 in Booneville, MS to Lonnie Byron Beene, Sr. and Etoyle (Farrar) Beene.
Jack was of the Methodist faith. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, Jack was a plant manager in the textiles industry – overseeing the seamstresses who made Wrangler jeans. (The seamstresses taught him how to sew, and he made some of his own suits.) He also worked for Windbreaker and Sony Music. Jack liked to go to garage sales and always had something specific in mind for which he was searching. He enjoyed cooking and doing yard work. He loved to fish and waited to catch the "Big Bass". He was quite an artisan. He built more than 2000 birdhouses out of old license plates he had collected and gave every one of them away, even paying the postage to send them to their recipients in distant locations. He most lovingly cared for and adored his cat named "Jerry".
In addition to his parents, Lonnie and Etoyle Beene, Jack is preceded in death by his first wife, Vasti (Crawford) Beene; two infant sons, one brother, and two sisters.
Left to cherish Jack's memory is his loving family: wife, Sally (Lebsack) Lewellen-Beene of Mount Pleasant, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie & Sara Beene of Lake Charles, LA; son, Richard Beene of The Woodlands, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Wesley & Angie Lewellen of Bellevue, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Sharla (Lewellen) & Phillip McKinney of Windsor, MO; and grandson, Zachary Lyon of Odessa, TX; five brothers-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home.
