Mr. Paul E. Bendavid, age 61 of Saugus, formerly of Revere, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, January 11th at the V.A. Medical Center in W. Roxbury. He was the beloved husband of Dyan (Frisiello) Bendavid with whom he shared 10 years of marriage. He had been a resident of Saugus for the past 5 years.
Born in Melrose, Paul was the son of Emilia (Harvey) Kinsella of CA and the late Edward Bendavid.
In addition to his wife and mother, Paul is survived by his son Kyle Bendavid of Revere; two step-sons, Robert A. and Nicholas DiFabio both of Revere; two grandchildren, Ryan and Alessia; five siblings, Edward Bendavid, Leanne Cavallaro, Dawn Kinsella, Jamey Maverick and Lance Yearling.
Paul proudly served his country as an Infantryman for the 5th Infantry where he was recognized as an expert in hand grenades and received an honorable discharge in 1982. Upon returning home from the service, Paul developed his skills in his trade of installing hardwood floors and was a member of Floor Coverers Union Local 2168 as a Journeyman.
Paul was big-hearted, brave, steadfast in his faith, and completely devoted to his family and friends. The things that brought him the greatest joy was spending quality time with family, playing golf with his buddies, online gaming, and fishing.
Paul was loved by so many, and he will forever be missed!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund at danafarber.jimmyfund.org.
