Paul R. Beneke, age 79, of Palmer, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at his home near Palmer, Iowa.

Paul Robert Beneke was born on February 17, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of George and Lorraine (Engel) Beneke. He graduated from Palmer High School in 1964. On September 12, 1970, Paul was united in marriage to Marcia Moranville in Palmer, Iowa. The couple settled on the family farm near Palmer where they farmed and raised their family. Paul served in the U.S. Army Reserves for several years, and in addition to farming, Paul worked for Iowa Industrial Hydraulics for several years and served as a Pocahontas County Supervisor from 1995 until 2015.

Paul was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer. He served on the Palmer Elevator Board and the Linking Families and Communities Board of Fort Dodge. Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia; daughter, Renee Beneke of Palmer; son, Chad (Cindy) Beneke of Humboldt; grandson, Jordan Beneke of Fonda; 2 step-grandchildren, Josie and Julian; brother, Dean (Jayne) Beneke of Pocahontas; brother-in-law, Norm Birkey of Fort Dodge, and nieces and nephews, Heather (Ryan), Tim (Kara), Max (Jane), Austin (Niki) and Wes (Whitney).

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lavonne Birkey.
