Warren Keith McPherson was born on March 14, 1926, in Des Moines, He left his earthly home at Laurens Care Center, Laurens, IA on September 12, 2025. He was 99 years of age, and was looking forward to seeing Jesus and spending eternity with Him.

He was the beloved son of the late William and Gertrude McPherson. He was survived by his daughter, Gloria Richter of Newton, IA, his son David (Marlys) McPherson of Havelock, IA, his grandchildren, Eric (Kay) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jessica (Lance) Rachbind of Coral Springs, FL, Jeremy McPherson of Norfolk, VA, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Wanita Hartsell of Des Moines, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Gertrude, Barbara, his wife of 51 years (divorced), daughter Ruth, brothers, Bill, Earl, John, and Doug, sisters Dorothy, Ann, Jean, and Nancy, and Granddaughter Michelle Richardson.

Warren was unable to attend school past 10th grade due to his father passing away. He stayed home to support the family. Warren served in the United States Navy May 23, 1944 through May 24, 1946. He was on the USS Phoenix during World War II. On March 18, 1945, Warren was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in combat.

Warren spent time working in California, Arkansas. In Des Moines, IA he worked in HVAC, and also for the Sheetmetal Workers Union, working in several states. He moved to Waynesboro, Georgia and was involved in building the Nuclear Plant. When he retired from the Sheetmetal Workers Union in 2002 he moved back to Des Moines, IA. August 5, 2025 he moved to Laurens Care Center in Laurens, IA.

Warren loved his family and friends very much. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and dancing.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa 50034.
