Paul Bergman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 12, 2025.
Paul Laverne Bergman, 88, passed away on July 30, 2025, in Anoka, Minnesota. Born on October 14, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Paul lived a full and passionate life rooted in resilience, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the things he loved most. Paul was a man of strong convictions and enduring spirit. Over three decades ago, he made the life-changing decision to embrace sobriety through Alcoholics Anonymous. His commitment to the AA community became a cornerstone of his life. He lived each day with purpose and humility, guided by the principles of acceptance and personal growth. The serenity prayer was not just words to him-it was a way of life: living one day at a time, accepting what he could not change, and finding the wisdom to know the difference. A true Minnesotan at heart, Paul had an unwavering love for sports. He rarely missed a Minnesota Vikings football game or a Minnesota Twins baseball matchup. Whether cheering from his favorite chair or discussing plays with friends and family, his enthusiasm was infectious. Paul's passion extended beyond the field to the open road. A devoted Harley-Davidson enthusiast, he was an active member of a motorcycle club and found joy in the freedom of riding. His love for vehicles didn't stop there-he was a self-proclaimed "motor head" who appreciated both new and classic cars. His fascination with engines and design reflected his meticulous nature and lifelong curiosity. An avid reader of newspapers-especially the financial pages-Paul took great interest in managing money and following the stock market. He approached investing with care and insight, often sharing his knowledge with those around him. Paul is survived by his daughter Holly Robertson; his sister Julie Englert; Grandchildren Rachel Robertson, Emily Robertson and many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents Elvin and Natalie Bergman; sisters Joyce Sifford and Marilyn Knutti; and brothers Mark Bergman and Myron Bergman. There will be no memorial service as Paul had requested prior to his death. He will be remembered in all of our hearts. Paul will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens - Mausoleum Phase I Niches - G3 if anyone would like to visit. May Paul's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of strength through perseverance.
