Paul Besterci Obituary

Paul D. Besterci, 85, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Loyalhanna Care Center. Born April 5, 1939, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Paul E. Besterci and Julian (Adamerovich) Besterci. Paul was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Latrobe Steel with 37 years of service and was a member of Local 1537. He was a life member of Kingston Veterans and Sportsmen Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and trap shooting. Paul was a skilled craftsman and excelled at leather making and woodworking.Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Besterci. Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris J. (Stynchula) Besterci, of Latrobe; one son, David M. Besterci, and his wife Sheila, of Spokane, WA; one daughter, Janice M. Glasser, and her husband Bill, of Latrobe; one brother, Gregory Besterci (Cathy) of Greensburg; two sisters, Lilian Bartok of Ohio and Cathy Wolfe (Jack) of Florida; six grandchildren, Joanna Redona (David), Michael Besterci (Maddie), Sarah Glasser (Adam), Katie Glasser, Sammi Messik, and Henry Messik; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Fisher and Aryana Fisher.Paul's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Donald Jakubek and staff for their kind and compassionate care. At Paul's request, there was no public viewing or service. Private interment was at Unity Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe.
