Paul Edward Bordeau 76, of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully in Orlando September 12th, 2025. Paul was born on December 29th, 1948, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the late Armond Alcide Bordeau and Bernadette Josephine Demick. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Gene Bordeau and David Bordeau and stepdaughter Lauren Clairmont.
Paul attended Pittsfield High School, where he lettered in hockey as a goalie and contributed to the state championship. Paul had a love for cars and was a brilliant mechanic. He built and co-owned the modified stockcar with his late friend Russ Blake that raced weekly at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, New York. Over the years that love continued with him building multiple hot rods which included a 1929 Model T, 1934 Ford Coupe, 1938 Ford Sedan, 1940 Chevy Sedan, 1963 Ford Falcon convertible and 63.5 Falcon Sprint.
Paul's early career began in Sheffield, MA at a print company, printing magazines for Time and Newsweek. When the company moved to Chicago, Paul declined the offer to move and decided to take a chance on Orlando, Florida with his wife and son, following his in-laws Reno and Jane Santolin.
Once settled in Orlando, Paul worked at a local print shop in addition to the Mobile gas station on Pine Hills and Silver Star Road as well as stocking shelves at Winn Dixie at night.
During one of his gas station shifts, the late Jim White approached him offering him a job at Action Plumbing. That day contributed to the start of his plumbing career.
Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend and was well known throughout the community. He was a coach, umpire and board member for Rolling Hills Little League in the 1980's where some of the dearest friends were made. Paul spent years in the Central Florida Street Rods scene, Early Iron Car Club and many sunny days on the golf course. Paul's presence left a lasting mark wherever he went.
Paul made a deep impact in Central Florida's booming new home construction industry starting in 1983, shaping the communities of Central Florida. He was the proud founder and owner of Bordeau Plumbing, Inc that was passed along to his Son Mark and Tankless Water Heaters of Orlando to his daughter Heather. A craft that was mastered by hard work, skill, and dedication that became a trusted name. His determination and knowledge paved the way for his family and many others in the plumbing industry that have gone on to successful careers of their own.
In 2000 he married Teresa Mary Chetkowski and settled in Apopka, FL. For the next 25 years, Paul continued his love of golf and spent many days on the course. Both Paul and Teri belonged to numerous bowling leagues where they enjoyed time together. They raised their grandchild Kaylyn Clairmont and shared the love of their dogs Buddy and the late Toby. Paul and Teri traveled up north for vacations and spent many days at their beach house in Wilbur by the Sea, Florida. Teri was even able to get him on a cruise! They enjoyed casinos and having poker nights with friends and his brother Buddy. (P.S. not sure who named the dog after his brother).
In 2023 Paul and Teri and Buddy the dog, moved to the Strive Senior Living community where they met new friends and played lots of crazy 8's and Bingo! He also mastered Wii bowling with his new extended FAMILY and possibly got them for a lot of "strive bucks".
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Mary Bordeau, and by Linda Ann Santolin Bordeau, the mother of his children. He leaves behind his son, Mark John Bordeau (Stacy Dillon Bordeau) of Apopka, FL, and his daughter, Heather Ann Bordeau of Orlando, FL. He was the cherished grandfather of Logan (Samantha) Payden, Kaylyn, Bristin, Brooklyn and Ayden and great-grandfather of Trace, Cade, and Millie.
He is also survived by his brothers Buddy (Kath) Bordeau; Ronnie (Pat) Bordeau; Tommy Bordeau, and John Bordeau; his sisters Dianne (Bill) Myers; Barbara Bordeau (Charlie Leibenow); Nancy Boucher; Sally Foley (Tom Leab); Kathleen (Joe) Blair and his nephew Mark Handy (Aimie) and family along with many more nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him with love.
Paul's life was defined by his passion for family, community, and craft. He was a man who could light up a room with his humor, guide others with his wisdom, and inspire those around him through his strong work ethic and generosity of spirit. His legacy will live on not only in the trade he mastered but in the countless lives he touched along the way.
