Paul R. Brackman

Paul R. Brackman, 88, of Leroy Township, Pa., passed away peacefully at Troy Community Hospital on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Born December 11, 1936, in Sayre, Paul was the son of the late John and Hazel (Wilcox) Brackman. He attended Canton Area Schools and graduated with the Class of 1955. In 1959, Paul proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country for nearly two years.

On July 6, 1968, Paul married the love of his life, Nancy Fitzwater, at the East Canton United Methodist Church. Together they raised three sons and shared 27 years of marriage, until Nancy's passing in 1995.

Paul dedicated his life to farming. He and his brother Owen acquired their father's dairy farm, Leroy Dale Farms. Together they saw to the daily operations of the farm, for many years, until Paul's retirement in 2018. He was a proud member of the Golden Gurneys Association, Windfall Grange, and the East Canton United Methodist Church.

A hardworking man, Paul always made time for his family. In his earlier years he cherished hunting with family and fishing adventures with his brother Charlie at Sunfish Pond. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing and bowling. A devoted sports enthusiast, Paul loved watching all kinds of games, especially when his grandchildren were on the field.

Paul leaves behind his sons; Stacey (Lynn) Brackman, Chris Brackman and Jon (Janet) Brackman, grandchildren; Samantha, Hunter, Elliott, Tanner and Savannah, brother; Owen Brackman as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents and loving wife Nancy, Paul was predeceased by his brothers and sisters in law; Lewis (Irma) Brackman and Charles (Audrey) Brackman and a daughter in law; Teresa Brackman.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the East Canton United Methodist Church, 5791 Route 414, Canton, PA 17724. A funeral and committal service will follow at Noon. Burial will be in Windfall Cemetery. Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul's name may be made to the East Canton United Methodist Church.
