Dr. Paul Peter Brooke Jr., Colonel (Retired) United States Army, gently passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Monday, August 23, 2021.

The family will host a viewing at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 20, 2021, followed by the reciting of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm and visitation at 8:00 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Mass will be celebrated in honor of Paul's life of 78 years at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock, Texas. Paul will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Paul Peter Brooke Jr. was born March 25, 1943, in New York City to Paul and Agnes Brooke, Sr. He married Barbara Andrusco on July 15, 1967. In 1998, he was named Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences at Texas Tech University. Prior to joining TTUHSC, he served with distinction in the United States Army as a Medical Service Corps officer achieving the rank of Colonel. His military career spanned 28 years and included command positions in Vietnam, Fort Riley, Kansas, Nurnberg, Germany, and culminated as the dean of the Academy of Health Sciences at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. As a man of letters, Paul was most proud of his contributions to TTUHSC. After retiring from TTUHSC in 2012, he filled his life with getting to know his grandchildren, traveling, spending time with his beloved wife, and dedicating considerable time to volunteer activities in his church and community. Paul was full of life in everything he did. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brooke; their children, Christopher (Pamela) Brooke, Jessica (Carlos) Vazquez, and Stephen Brooke; grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Rita, and Marcelino Vazquez, Rachael, Allison, Joshua, and John Brooke; siblings, Richard (Ann) Brooke, Charles Brooke; Jane (Ron) Kolbig, and Janis (Robert) Sahagian, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Peter Brooke Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Paul, Sr. and Agnes Brooke.
