Paul Walter Buchschacher, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of his community, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024.
Born on December 29, 1940, in Temple, Texas, Paul's life journey was marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones and the principles he held dear. At the age of 83, he concluded his remarkable journey in Plano, Texas, surrounded by his family.
Paul lost his father at the age of 10 and grew up in Waco, Texas with his mother and two older sisters. In high school Paul was a Latin scholar and a long distance runner.
His pursuit of knowledge led him to Rice University, where he majored in History. After his undergraduate studies, Paul answered the call to serve his country as a Lieutenant Commander and a JAG officer in the Navy, instilling in him a sense of discipline and honor that would characterize his personal and professional life. Furthering his academic and professional career, Paul earned a law degree from the University of Texas, graduating Salutatorian, a testament to his sharp intellect.
Professionally, Paul distinguished himself as a Corporate Lawyer, where his integrity and expertise earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Paul's life was enriched by a myriad of interests that he shared generously with those around him. He was an avid sailor, finding solace and joy on the water. His love for hunting, fishing and traveling were more than hobbies; they were opportunities for Paul to create lasting memories with his family. An enthusiastic sports fan, Paul never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams.
Paul's father, grandfather and great grandfather were all pastors. Paul's faith in God was the cornerstone of his life and legacy. He generously supported his local church, ministers and missionary work around the world. He was wise and kind, always putting others before himself and guiding his family with a gentle hand and a strong moral compass.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne Buchschacher; his dear children, Anne Gullett and John Buchschacher; his caring daughter-in-law, April Buchschacher; and his adoring granddaughters, Savannah, Loralei, London, and Scarlett Buchschacher. He is survived by his niece, Barbara Beck and her husband Chuck Beck and his niece Teri Kramer.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Walter and Alma Buchschacher; his sister, Ann Becker, and her husband, Bill Becker; his sister, Ruth Kramer, and her husband, Quentin Kramer; as well as his son in law, David Gullett and niece Beverly Becker.
Paul's life leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His story is one of unwavering love, service, and the enduring power of faith in Christ. Paul Walter Buchschacher will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

I was just thinking about Paul and am so disappointed to learn of his passing. He was a terrific lawyer and a wonderful man. He really took the time to train me as lawyer ( we reviewed many a document at the table on his office). I am forever appreciative.
