Paul B. Butler, age 79, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA on Thursday, May 15th, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Ravanis) Butler with whom he shared nearly 49 years of marriage.
Born on July 22, 1945, and raised in West Texas, Paul was the son of the late Leroy and Annette (Kelly) Butler. He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles Butler.
Shortly after he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, TX, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1964. He served for 8 years and fought in the Vietnam War. During his time in the military, he received training to become a computer programming specialist, which became his lifelong career. He worked at Honeywell, The Data Group and The Omega Management Group as a computer programmer for over 35 years.
Paul was a volunteer coach for Chelmsford Little League for close to 20 years. His other hobbies included bowling, fishing, golfing and of course, spending time on his beloved laptop. He also cherished traveling with his wife and family, especially to favorite destinations such as Hawaii and Disney World.
Family came first to Paul, as he was always willing to do everything he could to make sure his family was taken care of. Paul is survived by his children, Sue (Butler) Patria and her husband Derek of Lowell, Paul Butler II of Lowell, Dena Enborg and her husband Billy Joe Wade of Victorville, CA, Nena Warren and her husband Ronnie of Apple Valley, CA; his grandchildren, Amanda (Ritson) Mahanna and her husband Chris, Jenna (Warren) Fenchak and her husband Dwayne, Jerry Davenport and his wife Becca, Natashia Patria and her Fianc Nick Sarfaty-Jackson and Drew Patria and his wife Carley; and his great grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Warren, Emma Davenport, Brynlee Fenchak and Jaxson Mahanna. Paul was also survived by the beloved members of the Butler, Ravanis and MacDonald Families.
To those who knew Paul, they would remember him as kind-hearted, loving and full of happiness. He will be dearly missed.
Visting hours will be held on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A funeral service celebrating Pauls life will take place on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 9:30AM at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westlawn I Cemetery, 215 Boston Rd, LOWELL.
