I reported to Paul in June of 1971on the I-90, Lark-Dove project. This was inspecting about 5 miles of I-90 from the Patroon Island Bridge to Everett Road. Paul was deputy to Jim White, the Resident Engineer. He was an inspiration to work with and I am glad to read that he had a distinguished career.

Dearest Cooney Family, Mr Cooney was always so welcoming when I visited Kate at her house. He always made us laugh. As someone else said here, he always had a sunny and tall presence. Always had the best stories. Hugs to Kate, Mrs Cooney and Patrick.

Kate and the whole Cooney family,
Sad news about Paul. He was always a calming and supportive influence around the Bishop Maginn family. I will be thinking of your family during this difficult time.

I am forever in debt to Paul for his help in cutting through some red tape surrounding my exam for the NYS PE license. I enjoyed working with him throughout my career and always looked forward to seeing him at the many engineering dinners we both attended.

I met Paul and Phyllis Cooney at the Dominican Retreat and Conference Center, in Niskayuna. I always experienced both as warm, welcoming, generous, caring individuals. Paul served others courteously on days when he probably did not feel well himself. He was a great conversationalist, who always showed a genuine interest in me and in my family. My thoughts and prayers are truly with Phyllis and their family.
Grace, Peace, and Love,
