Paul Andrew Dawson of St. Marks, Florida passed away on September 30th at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on September 7, 1964, to the late Luther Paul Dawson and Bernice West Dawson. He was a graduate of Harnett Central High School.
Paul grew up in the Flatwoods community as a part of a farm family. He learned at an early age what hard work was all about. Working on the farm helped him to develop a strong work ethic which was evident in his successful career working in the printing industry. He began an entry level job with Edwards Brothers Printing Company in Lillington in the 1980s. He also worked with PBM Printing in Cary. After relocating to St Marks, he worked with Rose Printing Company in Tallahassee. Through the years, he was promoted to supervisor, and later manager.
As a youth, Paul loved sports and was a natural athlete. In high school, he played football, basketball, and baseball. However, his favorite hobby was fishing which he enjoyed throughout his life.
He attended the Lillington Methodist Church with his family as a child and youth which was the beginning of his faith journey. While living in St. Marks, he attended the Crawfordville United Methodist Church. He was very active in his local church and remained strong in his faith as witnessed by his work in the church and community.
He loved being an uncle to his two nephews, one of which was his namesake, Paul Dawson Winslow. He and his youngest nephew, Jonathan, shared the love of fishing and hunting. Jonathan always enjoyed his visits to St. Marks and fishing outings with his Uncle Paul.
Paul is survived by his wife of 22 years, Laura Dawson, his sister Nancy Guy (Bill), sister Kathi Dawson, and nephews Paul Dawson Winslow and Jonathan Winslow. He is also survived by his stepchildren Rachel, Stephanie, and Tyler, 10 step grandchildren, and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the Erwin United Methodist Church on October 23, 2022, at 3:00 pm followed by visitation with the family and a reception in the Erwin UMC Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crawfordville United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Crawfordville, FL 32326-0037.

I knew Paul for the length of my career at Rose Printing and Geographics. He was a great friend and mentor. Paul gave me my first chance in supervision in printing. My heart breaks at the loss.

Laura so sorry to hear about Paul. Paul was a friend and a neighbor. He built our deck for Sean & I. I will never forget him asking are you sure you don't want this or that. Finally, we said just do what you think will look good and he did. It came out amazing! It was not work to him, he enjoyed doing what he did and there was never a dull moment when Paul was around.
Prayers to you and the family.

Paul was a classmate and we went to church together where we were in youth group together. Many fond memories but especially in youth group. He grew up in Lillington United Methodist Church and was active in the youth group with many fun Sunday afternoons sharing God and playing tag football and softball. He will be missed. May God hold his family in his palm and give them peace and comfort.
