Obituary
Paul J. DelCioppio, 67, died peacefully at home Sunday, December 18, 2022. He is survived by Melinda, his beloved wife of 43 years, and his sons Joseph Charles and Christopher Paul.
Paul was a resident of Rhode Island for nearly his entire life; exceptions were Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and a brief time in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Always dedicated to duty and to family, Paul's career was as a civil engineer for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, where he worked for 32 years. During this time Paul cherished his role as a parent, instilling in Joseph and Christopher the same values of dedication to career and family; volunteering as a little league coach and scout leader, while also gifting his sons his loves of reading, history, Star Trek, The Simpsons, the Red Sox, and the Patriots.
In retirement, Paul maintained his willingness to help others, volunteering at a soup kitchen in Providence, including serving as a member of its board, and outreach duties as a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Providence. Paul enjoyed many afternoons at the Warwick Bridge Club partnering with his wife, and playing golf wherever and whenever he could. Golf was a primary activity on trips to Florida with beloved friends, the Marzelli's. He was loved and will be missed by many.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 10 a.m. in St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 50 Orchard Ave., Providence, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: UNICEF online or at the following address: Share Our Strength, PO Box 715475, Philadelphia. PA 19171-5474 or Doctors Without Borders USA, PO Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
