Paul L. Denison Jr, 87, of Ft. Pierce, FL passed away peacefully under the Care of Treasure Coast Hospice in Ft. Pierce, Friday April 7th, 2023. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He was raised in Connecticut and Fort Pierce, Florida.
Paul joined the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War.
Paul returned to Fort Pierce in 1957. In 1958, he, in his words "found the prettiest redhead in St. Lucie County and married her". He owned Denison Diesel Service and he was a Diesel Mechanic for the Citrus Industry for the majority of his career.
Paul was a mechanical genius. Anyone that knew him, knew he saw treasure in everything, didn't matter the condition, he had a vision that he could make it worth something and he would. Paul's ability to accumulate excess treasures was second to none. Paul's favorite color was rust and he had a fondness for flea markets, thrift stores and local junk yards. Paul never met a stranger, especially one that was giving treasures away.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Thelma J. Denison, his four sons, Robert Denison, Gregory Denison (Gina), Jeffrey Denison, Steven Denison (Christina), his only daughter Melissa Harnage (Steve), his five grandchildren Brian Denison, Katie Denison, Jennifer Milton and (Toby), Jeffrey Denison, Jr., Alexander Denison (Lexi), his four great grandchildren, Tucker, Maggie, Rowen and Cove and his last surviving sibling, his brother, Walter Steen.
Paul had a handful of friends that he considered his family, they meant the world to him. Paul was recently predeceased by one, Bobby Johnson of Fort Pierce and survived by three, Ron French, Pete Johnson and Victor Nicholson.
There are no services planned at this time. We ask for those who wish, memorial donations can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice in his name: https://treasurehealth.org/292/Donate
