Paul Devin

Paul F. Devin, 78, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on December 19th, with his family by his side. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Paul will be remembered as an impeccable gentleman who was respected by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Paul was born on May 19, 1946, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Heger) Devin. He was a true Roxbury kid, spending his childhood on the "prairie" playing ball with his friends. It was there, with the Roxbury Red Raiders, that his lifelong love of baseball began. After graduating from BC High in 1963 at the age of 16, Paul went straight to work. He worked in the printing industry for 50 years, with 35 of those years at Semline Inc. (Quebecor), and later at Cranberry Graphics and Broadridge Financial, until his retirement.
In his earlier years, Paul and his friends enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Donna. They were married in 1970 at Gate of Heaven Church in South Boston and spent 54 and ½ years together. In 1972, they moved to West Plymouth to raise their family. After their daughters were grown, Paul and Donna moved to the Great Island community in Plymouth, where they have lived for the last 17 years.
Over the years, Paul could often be seen on the sidelines and in the stands, cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting and school events. Aside from his family, Paul's two greatest passions were sports and cars, especially his 1989 Corvette, which he later gifted to his oldest grandson. Paul was a true fan of all the New England sports teams but held a special place in his heart for the Red Sox.
Paul is survived by his wife, Donna M. (Clifford) Devin, and his daughters Courtney Sives and her husband Michael of Centerville, and Paula Bartlett and her husband Ryan of Plymouth. He is the adored Pop of four grandchildren: Liam and Mary Sives, and Lucas and Nora Bartlett.
He is the brother of the late Robert Devin and his wife Maura of South Weymouth, James Devin and his wife Lily of Norwell, Bettyann Ghilardi and her husband Ronnie of Norwell, Nancy Angeloni and her husband Sonny of Quincy, and Chuck Devin and his wife Donna of Scituate. Paul is also the cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet), on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at St. Bonaventure Church at 11:00 a.m. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
