Paul Grey Dodd

Paul Grey Dodd, 98, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 10, 1926, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Paul lived a long and meaningful life marked by service, dedication, and quiet strength.
At the age of 17, Paul answered the call to serve his country during World War II by enlisting in the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Brookings and was honorably discharged in 1946. For his service, he received several commendations including the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon-testaments to his courage and commitment during a pivotal time in history.
Following his military service, Paul embarked on a career with the Public Service Company of Oklahoma. Over more than three decades of dedicated work, he contributed to the growth and reliability of public utilities across the state. His professional life reflected his steady character and strong work ethic.
Paul was a longtime member of St. James Presbyterian Church in Jenks, where he found spiritual community and fellowship over many years. His faith was a quiet but enduring presence throughout his life.
He found joy in simple pleasures-fishing on local ponds and lakes, tinkering around his yard with patient hands, and cheering for college football and softball teams. A devoted fan of the OU Sooners, Paul rarely missed an opportunity to support his favorite teams.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Glynda Mae Goodin Dodd; his parents Cleo and Pearl Dodd; his brothers Tony Dodd and Ray Dodd; and his son Glen Dodd.
He is survived by his son, Robert Dodd and his wife Roxie; daughter, Sally Riddle; and daughter, Laura Crownover as well as 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
His gentle nature and quiet presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial gathering to honor Paul's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at St. James Presbyterian Church, located at 11970 S Elm St., Jenks, Oklahoma 74037.
