Paul C. Doherty, 56, of Snow Shoe, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1969, in Bellefonte, the beloved son of Donald P. "Ducky" and Wava J. (Witherow) Doherty.
Paul was a 1987 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and a man of Christian faith. He spent most of his life as a self-employed truck driver, a career he was proud of.
He found joy in simple pleasures-riding his side-by-side, collecting model trucks, and spending time with friends. Paul was a life member of the Snow Shoe Fire Hall and a social member of several local organizations including the Clarence Moose, the Clarence American Legion, and the Young Democratic Club in Clarence. He enjoyed relaxing at the clubs, often trying his luck at the Skill Machines-sometimes winning, often not, but always playing with a smile. Paul was also currently serving on Snow Shoe Borough Council.
Paul was known for his big heart and his even bigger circle of friends. He cherished breakfasts out with his trucking buddies and local pals, always eager to share a laugh or lend a hand. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need.
He is survived by his son, Sean P. Doherty of North Carolina, and his nephew Ronald P. Snook-who was like a son to him-and Ronald's wife, Randi, of Grassflat. He also leaves behind one grandchild and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Doherty, who passed on October 21, 2020.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hills Methodist Cemetery in Grassflat.
