Paul Richard Dow

Paul Richard Dow, 83, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Rhode Island Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Vorro) Dow for 59 years prior to his passing. Paul was also a resident of Port Charlotte, FL.
Born in Lynn, MA, he was the son of the late Clifford and Alice (Dumas) Dow.
After graduating from LaSalle Academy, Paul went on to graduate from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD where he was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy. Paul retired from the Navy after 24 years of dedicated service in 1985 at the rank of Commander. Paul received his MBA from Bryant University. Paul was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol where he served on the Financial Board. He was member of the Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus Lodge 1060 and volunteered for over 20 years at the Ronald McDonald House in Providence.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife: Mary Jane Dow; his children: Mary Ellen Dow-Contney (Leonard), Paul Richard Dow, Jr. (Lisa), Stephen Dow (Julianne), Patrick Dow; his grandchildren: Paul T. Dow, Kevin F. Dow, Gianna T. Dow, Mary M. Dow, Elle C. Dow, Molly E. Dow, Wade J. Contney, Jolie M. Dow, Jackson S. Dow, Medeski S. Dow, Asia C. Dow, Zinan P. Dow; his great grandchild Elijah Dow; his siblings: Judith Dow-Grant and Michael G. Dow; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was also pre-deceased by his grandchild Andrew Dow.
Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4:00 7:00 PM. His funeral services will begin from Sansone Funeral Home at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 141 State Street, Bristol at 10:00 AM. Full military honors will be conducted at the Bristol Town Common immediately following the service. Burial will be private at a future date.
