Paul Drumm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raymond E Bond Funeral Home on Feb. 1, 2026.
Paul David Drumm, 63, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the Pine Haven Nursing Home in Philmont. He was born on August 16, 1962, in Hudson, NY, the son of the late Arnold D. and Helen E. (Leiser) Drumm.

Paul had a deep love for cross-country trucking and truly felt at home out on the open road. He enjoyed the freedom it gave him and the people he met along the way. Paul was everybody's friend and will be remembered.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister, Beth Drumm.

He is survived by his siblings: Terry (Cathy) Drumm, Peggy Drumm, Jeff (Lori) Drumm, and Gregg Drumm; along with two nephews, one niece, one great-grandnephew, and one great-grandniece, all of whom will cherish his memory.

There will be no funeral services. In keeping with Paul's wishes, his ashes will be scattered at various truck stops-places that held special meaning to him throughout his life.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie, NY.

Paul was in most of my classes, through grade school, at Ichabod; our parents were friends for years. I was the tallest guy in the class, but I always felt small when he was around. It is funny how memories go......Paul was one of those rare people who always greeted you with a genuine, caring, smile. He was also the strongest guy I ever knew, likely due to growing up on the farm; I'll never forget the day I encountered him at the Valatie car wash; he wanted to wash the mud off the pickup he drove in, but there was a racing motor, sitting on a cradle in the bed; he asked if I could grab the cradle, and place it on the ground, outside the bay....he then reached over into the bed and literally picked up the engine.....I was so stunned, I just stood there, gaping at him, as he held the engine in his arms....after a moment, he asked if I would be able to move the wooden frame.....I quickly moved it, after which he lowered the engine onto it......I asked him how much it weighed....enough, he said, with a smile. He was a rare soul, and will be missed by many.
