Queebsbury–Paul D. Duell, 89, passed away Monday morning, October 20, 2025 at the Pines Nursing Home in Glens Falls.
Born on November 26, 1935 in Horicon, N.Y., he was the son of the late William Z. and Lillian (Wilcox) Duell. Paul was a US Army veteran, serving from 1953 – 1956. He was a fan of Horse Racing and enjoyed meeting his friend Tony at Stewart's for coffee and to play the lottery. Paul's children were always a very big part of his life, and he enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by all of his siblings.
He is survived by his children, Donna Smith, Debra Duell, Diane Washburn (Larry), John Duell, Irene Beckwith (Michael), April Brown and Patricia Duell; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Linda, Philip, Heather, Dwight, Kain, Terry, Skyler, Cassandra, and Brianna; great-grandchildren, Haley, Olivia, Kylie, Aubreigh, Kalyah, Bryson, Ryker, Kinsleigh, Kam, Katelyn, Abigail, Alexis, Noah, Howard, Makenzie, Jackson, Calvin, and Levi; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Committal services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 24 2025 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road in Schuylerville. Family and friends that are attending are asked to be at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. to line up.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and nurses at The Pines for the love and care provided to Paul.
Memorial Donations may be made in Paul's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

I happened upon the notice of Paul's passing accidentally this evening. I worked the am shift at Stewart's while going to school for my RN. Paul was a regular and a very sweet soul. I always looked forward to him coming in. Sometimes I wondered if he came in as early as he did (and stayed as long as he did) because I was young and alone all morning. I am sincerely sorry for his loss. May his family and friends find comfort in knowing Paul was the kind of man that made friends wherever he went. I know he had a friend in me.
