Paul Emile Dumont, 82, of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, who meant everything to him. Those who knew Paul will remember him as a man whose kindness, gentleness, and loving spirit touched everyone he encountered.

Born in Sanford, Maine, on August 21, 1943, to Emile Joseph and Oliane Coté Dumont, Paul grew up as a devoted member of St. Ignatius Parish, where his lifelong faith was nurtured. His journey in education began at St. Francis College in Biddeford, Maine, and continued at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Master's in Library Science-and where he had the great fortune to meet Carol Meiser, the love of his life.

Paul and Carol were married on November 29, 1970, in San Antonio, Texas, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span almost 55 years. Together, they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and unconditional love, raising four children who became the center of their world.

For 36 years, Paul served as Director of Technical Services at Dallas County Community College District, retiring in 2012. His colleagues remember him as a fierce advocate for his staff and someone who was simply wonderful to work with and for. He was active in the Texas Library, American Library and American Records Management Associations. Paul also generously gave his time serving on the school boards of St. Rita and Bishop Lynch Catholic Schools.

Paul's faith was central to who he was. He was a devoted member of St. Rita Catholic Church's Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus, living out his beliefs through service to others. When he wasn't working or volunteering, Paul could be found cheering on his favorite baseball and basketball teams, proudly adding to his sports autograph collection, or-his greatest joy-spending time with his seven grandchildren, who brought endless delight to his life.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Meiser Dumont; daughters Aimée Villanueva (Thomas) of New Braunfels, Texas, Noëlle Mosher of Allen, Texas, and Marguerite Lenderman (Patrick) of McKinney, Texas; son Jon-Paul Dumont (Erin) of San Francisco, California; and his treasured grandchildren: Thomas Paul, Mia Caroline, and Jonah Gabriel Villanueva; Jayden David Mosher; Eleanor Cecile Dumont; and Beston Paul and Truett Carl Lenderman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister Priscilla Ayotte, his brother Conrad Dumont, and his mother-in-law Cecilia Meiser.

A funeral Mass and celebration of Paul's life will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Ave, Allen, Texas 75002, on October 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM. All who knew and loved Paul are invited to gather and share in honoring a man whose gentle spirit and loving heart made the world a little kinder and brighter.

I will never forget Paul. He was so sweet and kind to people. He was such a good and loving husband, father and grandfather! He was always willing to go antiquing with Carol, encouraging her to buy what she wanted. Few husbands are like that, but he liked to make her happy! I sure will miss him.

Dear Carol and extended family,

My late wife TerryKay (Payne) always spoke very highly of you, Carol, and Cathie Foley shared how wonderful a man Paul was. Please accept my sincere condolences as you grieve the loss of the man who meant so much to all of the Dumont family, and whose love and memory will remain in your hearts.
