Paul Henry Fijewski, age 84, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Arlington, Texas.
He was born on March 6, 1940, in Weirton, West Virginia to Helen and Henry Fijewski.
Paul was raised in Weirton, West Virginia and graduated from Weirton high school in 1958. He served his country in the Navy from July 31, 1958, to July 30, 1962. Later, he had three children whom he loved dearly. Paul went on to work for American Airlines at Dallas Fort Worth Airport for more than 20 years where he would later retire after a fulfilling career.
In his free time Paul enjoyed traveling, trying new restaurants on Friday's, Casinos, camping at West Fort Lake in his Airstream and his dogs. He was an active member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for more than 29 years. His family will always remember him as a loving father, grandfather, husband, and a loyal friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents Helen and Henry; his wife Sarah Fijewski and his sister Dolores Szymanski.
Paul is survived by his son Paul, daughter-in-law Shelly and their son James, his daughter Darlene Carson of West Virginia, and his son Richard and his children Rebecca and Richard. He is also survived by his brother Tom Fijewski and his wife Jackie as well as his Sister Geraldine Fijewski.
Friends may visit Paul's family at the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 200 Preston Ave., Weirton, on Friday June 14, from 10am until the noon Mass of Christian Burial.
Fr. Anthony G. Thurston will preside.
Burial will follow in Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
