Paul Martin “Guy” Franchett, 53, of Columbus, GA passed away in his home on February 21, 2025. A memorial service will be held for him and his late father at 2:00 pm on April 5, 2025 at Bandera Brewery, 3540 State Hwy 16 S., Bandera, TX 78003.

Paul was born on August 4, 1971, to Gladys and Paul F. Franchett. He worked various jobs including on a construction site for 8 years. Paul enjoyed the final seven years of life with his partner, Jennifer, and stayed wrapped around the finger of his grandchild, Laney. He enjoyed collecting items he thought were neat such as baseball hats, drones, and zippo lighters, and watching movies in his free time. Paul was argumentative and could be a real pain, but cared so much for helping others and providing what was needed to fix problems. He was a funny man who had a huge heart and would do anything for other people. Paul loved the water and set many records on the swim team in high school. After high school he followed in his grandpa’s footsteps and joined the army as a cook for three years during operation desert shield and operation desert storm. Paul was content in any situation he was in and loved life. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Paul Franchett is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Gladys Franchett, and Kenneth and Glenna Kepler; and brother in law, Scott McCloud.

Paul Franchett is survived by his partner, Jennifer Freeman; parents, Gladys Franchett and Paul F. Franchett; sisters, Stephanie Northern, Becky Franchett, and Kimberly McCloud; and grandchild, Laney Freeman.
