Paul Goff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Jun. 29, 2024.
Paul Alan Goff, age 78, of Centertown, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home.
He was born December 14, 1945, in Jefferson City, Mo., a son of William Leonard and Effie Irene (Coleman) Goff. On February 2, 1974, Paul was united in marriage to Virginia Mary Elizabeth Hellebusch in Jefferson City and together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Paul was a lifelong resident of the mid-Missouri area and graduated from Jefferson City High School. Following graduation, Paul began his career at the Jefferson City Shoe Factory. He then transitioned to Porter's Construction and DeLong's before retiring from Von Hoffmann Press.
When Paul wasn't working, he devoted most of his time to outdoor activities. He had a passion for hunting deer, fishing, and riding the horses he owned. He especially cherished teaching his grandkids how to ride horses, along with imparting skills in shooting guns, bows, and slingshots. Paul also loved going to rodeos and found joy in relaxing while watching old westerns. Beyond his love for the outdoors, he had a knack for martial arts, often teaching self-defense to others. His enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and skills made him a beloved mentor to his family and friends.
Paul was a simple man who truly understood the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. His humble nature and steadfast commitment to his family and community left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, remembered not only for his skills and passions but also for his unwavering kindness and generosity.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Ginny of the home; three children, Paula Wilbers of Jefferson City, Becky Vance (Eddie) of Russellville, and David Goff (Kim) of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, Brandi Wilbers (Tony Nixon), Kelli Holzer, Tyler Wilbers, Justin Wilbers, Dustin Forsythe (Jenn Rousch), Cody Forsythe, Mandy Goff and Addy Goff; two great grandchildren, Tayla Nixon and Payton Wilbers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings and their spouses, Betty Eliott (Harold), Dorsey "Bud" Goff (Shirley), Charlotte Wilbers (Clete) and Leon Goff (Bertha).
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at Freeman Mortuary, 915 Madison, Jefferson City, Mo., 65101.
