Paul F. Greeley of Quincy and Limerick, Maine, passed away surrounded by his family on September 24, 2025, at the age of 74. Raised in Milton, Paul's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness, loyalty and a deep devotion to family and friends.
The son of the late Patrick and Eva (Scanlon) Greeley, Paul grew up in a big, lively household where hard work and togetherness were a part of daily life. He carried those values with him through every stage of his life-offering a helping hand, and a word of encouragement, or just showing up when it mattered most.

Paul was a proud graduate of Milton High where he met the love of his life, Michele (Choate). Together, they nurtured a family that would be Paul's greatest pride. He was a devoted father to Calece M. Johnson and her husband Thomas of Milton, and Paul F. Greeley II and his wife Stacey of Ledyard, CT. His greatest joy came from being "Papa" to Averie, Aidan, Evan, and Loren. Whether he was on the sidelines yelling, coaching their teams, or patiently teaching them how to waterski, Paul's pride in his grandchildren was unmatched.

Paul was one of eight siblings, and his bond with his brothers and sister remained strong throughout his life. Growing up on Bradlee Road in Milton, Paul was part of countless legendary stories and laughter. Stephen Greeley of Weymouth, Dennis Greeley and his wife Peggy of FL, Neal Greeley and his wife Mary of FL, Emmett Greeley and his wife Brenda of FL, Eva Pickard and her husband Scott of Norwell, and Patrick Greeley of Milton, will all remember Paul as a warm-hearted brother who never turned down a family gathering. He was predeceased by his brother Mark of Quincy.

Paul's extended family loved him deeply. The Choate family is another proud Milton family and have been together through thick and thin with Paul always a supportive pillar. Paul was a favorite uncle to 19 nieces and nephews who looked up to him as someone who was always there to celebrate and support. Many cousins enjoyed Paul's company and warmth.

Paul's friends extended from Maine to Florida. He spentmany summers coaching the Sokokis Lake Ski Team and at one time was President of the lake association. Paul and Michele enjoyed many trips to Florida to visit with family and friends making lasting memories. He was always a good person to have around the table or driving a boat to be sure all were having fun.

Paul was a proud member of Teamsters Local 25. A lifelong truck driver starting with cross country moving to oil delivery to DHL, he was a hard worker who took pride in holding more than one job to support his family. He loved driving, hardly ever a passenger, and was always in charge of your move in day. Paul enjoyed driving classic cars and motorcycles and then going to car shows with Michele.

Paul had a lifelong love for sports, both as a player and a fan. From high school quarterback, basketball player, to coaching youth soccer and softball, he found real joy in being part of a team-especially when that team was his own family. He was an avid fan of the Bruins, Patriots, and Celtics (especially during the "good years").

Paul had a gift for making people feel welcome. His laugh could fill a room, and you always knew when he'd arrived. He was often the last to leave, not because he lingered, but because people genuinely wanted him to stay. His presence lit up every gathering, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Paul was diligent about getting his skin checked, and yet he still lost his life to melanoma. In honor of his memory, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Melanoma Research Alliance (curemelanoma.org).

Visiting hours will be held at Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, on Tuesday, September 30, from 5:00–8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Parish, Milton, on Wednesday, October 1, at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Sending deepest condolonces from the Reed Family to yours. We are so saddened to hear the news of Paul's passing. He was larger than life and made us feel so welcome at the lake from Day 1. We will never forget the gift he gave our children of teaching them how to waterski. May his memories live on. xoxoxo
