Paul Hamrick, 78, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on May 12, 2025. Born on May 14, 1946, to the late Jack and Eva Hamrick, Paul lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity.
For 59 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Naomi. From the very first date, dressed in black, he never asked-he simply told her, "You're going to marry me." And so they did, building a beautiful life together with two daughters who brought them immense joy.
Paul was happiest outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or sharing stories about the legendary "two-legged deer." He loved the thrill of a good find while dumpster diving, the deep sound of Johnny Cash, and the simple pleasure of music, often singing "Pretty Woman" and "The Last Date" with Naomi. He had a heart bigger than the Georgia sky. Paul never met a stranger, and if you needed something, he made sure you had it-even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. His kindness and humor were unmatched, and he had a special nickname for each of his grandkids-Marissa, his "Cookie"; Matthew, his "Big Boy"; and Brody, his "Bro Man." Marissa even called him "Pauly Pocket," a name that always brought smiles.
Paul lived fully, loved deeply, and gave endlessly. His family, friends, and everyone who crossed his path will miss him dearly, but his spirit and stories will live on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Joe Loggins, James Loggins, sisters, Betty Ann Bass, Marjorie Hamrick, Celia Queen and Frances Rutledge.
Paul's absence will be deeply felt by his surviving family, wife, Naomi Hamrick, daughters, Pam (Stanley) Crumley, Amy Hamrick, grandchildren, Matthew Crumley, Marissa Crumley and Brody Hancock. Several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Paul's memory.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, May 16, from five in the evening until nine at night and Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 12 noon until the service hour.
Paul's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at two in the afternoon with testimonies of love from his family. Interment will be at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Crumley, Brody Hancock, Jabo Cooper, Jack Smith, Bryan Patterson, Charles Padgett and Jimmy Evans. Along with the heartfelt testimonies of love from his family, we warmly welcome friends, and all who cherished him, to join in. If you would like to share a story or memory of Paul, you are invited to stand up and celebrate his life through your words.
