Paul was born Jan. 1st, 1948 to Peter and Margaret (Deichert) Hartman, the sixth of seven children. He grew up on the family farm south of Carson, ND and attended school in Brisbane, ND. On a hot and humid day, July 29th, 1972, he was united in marriage to Doris Bachmeier at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church. Together they raised two sons, Darrell and Jason.
In addition to his two sons, he took pride in spending time with his three granddaughters, Hayli, McKenzie and Cassy and watching them participate in their various activities.
His numerous friends and family agree, Paul was known for his quick witty comments and sharp sense of humor. If he teased you, you knew he cared about you. Paul was a skilled machinery operator, cattlemen, rodeo fan, and loved polka music.
After working for various farms and ranches in his home area, Paul and his family moved to Dickinson, ND where he formed lifelong relationships with his co-workers at Power Fuels. He operated equipment and trucks as well as being a dispatcher for the oil fields. He completed his career as a construction truck driver for Northern Improvement in Bismarck as well as helping out on the family farm in Carson.
