Paul Byron Helm

Paul Byron Helm, 62, of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY. He was born in Russell Springs, KY on October 13, 1963, to the late Byron Wayne and Laverne Gaskin Helm. He was preceded in death by a sister Carlotta Keltner.

Mr. Helm attended the Union Chapel Church and was an adventurous person that lived his life to the fullest. Known for his witty personality, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing the guitar, playing Rook, golfing and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Dana Smallwood Helm of Columbia, KY; three children Michael Smallwood (Vanessa) and Wayne Helm both of Columbia, KY and Summer Helm (Steven McCaig) of Colorado; three grandchildren Joshua Smallwood (Brennan), Jordan Smallwood (Fiancée Kaylei Neat) and Mia Martinez; three sisters Kathy Nissley (Daniel) of Columbia, KY, Linda Kelley (Joe) of Campbellsville, KY and Bridget Singleton (Jeff) of Stanford, KY and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Hadley Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00-7:00pm and will continue Saturday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

Bro. Daniel Nissley will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Tony Sneed, Kenny Grider, Kyle Cundiff, Mike Smallwood, Wayne Helm, and Logan Nissley.
