Paul Douglas Hibbs, 91, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY.

He was born on June 15, 1934, in Mortons Gap, KY, to the late Nimma Orange Hibbs and George Elsworth Hibbs. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of the UK College of Engineering. He retired after forty-three years as a supervisor at the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing and genealogy. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Paul was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Morton Hibbs; brother, Joseph Hibbs; and sister, Ann Gatlin.

His survivors include wife, Anna Gish Hibbs; son, John (Sarah) Hibbs of Dawson Springs, KY; stepsons, Kelly (Dana) Divine of Bowling Green, KY and Kevin (Holly) Divine of Versailles, KY; grandchildren, Jake Hibbs, Abby Hibbs, Reese Divine, and Katie Divine; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor David Eddmenson officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Ed Hibbs, Greg Gatlin, Alan Gatlin, Steve Gatlin, Derek Burns, and Steve McCarty.
