Ellwanda Terry Hibbs

Ellwanda Terry Hibbs, 94, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Ridgewood Terrace and Rehabilitation.

She was born on May 29, 1931, in Crofton, KY, to the late Louise Samples Terry and Robert Terry. She was a 1949 graduate from Madisonville High School. She worked for Ruby Lumber Company from 1947 until 1954 and also for Cablevision from 1965 until 1970. Many people will remember her from the store she ran with her husband, Earl's House of Frames where she worked from 1973 until 1990. Elwanda was a member of the Nebo Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven "Steve" Thomas Hibbs.

She is survived by her husband of seventy-four years, Earl Hibbs of Madisonville; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kathy Hibbs of Morgantown, WV; granddaughter and her husband, Emily and Glenn Gress of Scranton, PA; grandson and his wife, Matt and Dana Hibbs of Athens, GA; and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Ethan, Glenn, Aiden, and Grace.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Eastridge officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
