Paul Edwin Holmes

Paul Edwin Holmes, 68, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. He was born, Sept. 11, 1956, in Springfield, IL, the son of Kenneth and Florence Lawson Holmes. Paul married Ruby M. Moore, July 1, 2018, in Bonne Terre, MO. Surviving is wife, Ruby of Jacksonville, daughters, Heather (Devin) Smock and Kristen (Jorge) Holmes both of Jacksonville, Nichole (Glenn) Laramore of Mineral Point, MO, Samatha (Steve) Kelly of Bonne Terre, MO, Darren (Elizabeth) Holmes of Alburn; brothers, Larry (Paula) Holmes of Jacksonville, Gordon (Donna) Holmes of Winchester, Skip (Tracy) Holmes of Glasgow, Lyndell (Carol) Holmes of Winchester; sisters, Connie Jones of Roodhouse, Brenda Angenedt of Jacksonville; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by sons, Gilbert Chilsted and Keith Edward Moore, and brother, Ronnie Holmes. Paul was employed by Helena Chemical in Bluffs before retiring. He enjoyed making wine, fishing, and mushrooming. Above all, Paul was a devoted father and loving grandfather. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
