Paul Eugene Horner, age 54, of Elkville, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at home in Elkville, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Wednesday, December 2, 1970 in Du Quoin, a son of Robert Elvis and Bonnie Jean (Bird) Horner-Branch. He married the love of his life, Lory Renee Coon on June 10, 1996 in Du Quoin. Together, they have shared twenty-nine years of marriage.
Paul was a true outdoorsman who lived life on his own terms. He had a passion for tinkering with anything that had an engine, and his vehicles were always his pride and joy. Whether he was hunting, fishing, riding dirtbikes, or going mudding, he was always up for an adventure. With a quick wit and a sharp tongue, Paul was known for his comments and ability to make everyone laugh. He loved to pull pranks and play jokes on his friends and family, and his special way of thinking was always coming up with new ways to keep people on their toes. Despite his rough-around-the-edges exterior, Paul had a heart of gold and loved his family more than anything. He was a fun-loving, flirty, and very in-your-face kind of guy who always stood out in a crowd. Paul may be gone, but his memory will live on through the countless laughs, adventures, and memories he shared with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife- Lory Renee Horner of Elkville; son- Mark Richard Horner of Elkville; brother- Brian (Tracy) Horner of Elkville; brother- Mike Feldscher of Olive Branch; brother- Carl Branch of Du Quoin; sister- Staci Wright of Du Quoin; step-father- Charles Branch of Du Quoin; nieces and nephews- Jaron Shockley, Briana Shockley, Robert Shockley, Valerie West, Corena Deitch, and Matthew Harris.
He is preceded in death by mother, father, brother- Mark Eric Horner, and his uncle- Ronnie Bird.
