Paul Edward Hurley, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family in prayer.
He was born on February 7th, 1949, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania to Paul Edward Sr. and Lorraine (Teixeira) Hurley. Paul lived a life characterized by service, dedication, and love for his family. His education journey saw him attend Holy Name Catholic Grade School, Roosevelt Middle School and Field Kindley High School before proceeding to Coffeyville Community College and Pittsburg State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Paul was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he returned to Coffeyville. On July 15th, 1977, Paul married Teri Featherngill at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.
Paul dedicated 30 plus years of his life serving as a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at the Coffeyville Post Office before retiring. His commitment to his job was only surpassed by his devotion to his family and his community. He was an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville and Knights of Columbus Council #991. In his spare time, he enjoyed partying in the game room on Friday nights, road trips to the casinos, fishing, woodworking, carpentry and riding golf carts with his best friend Kenny. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his family, kids and loved spoiling his grandchildren. He was always the life of the party and never knew a stranger.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Teri Hurley, and their children; Melissa (Spencer) Duncan, Dawn (Trent) McGown, April Swift, and Paul (Kerri) Hurley. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild with another on the way. He is also survived by his sisters Anna (Willis) Plute, Patricia (Brent) Drum, Debra (Mike) Baldwin, and Melissa Hurley. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Lorraine Hurley.
Rosary will be at 6:30 on Friday, October 10th at Holy Name Catholic Church and a memorial service celebrating Paul's life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Father Drew Dellasega officiating. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday, October 10th, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
