We are sad to announce that Paul Jude Joseph Tarto passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born January 10, 1964 in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Metairie. Paul will be deeply missed by his sister, Antonia (Toni) Tarto, his niece, Catriona Tarto, and her husband, Marc-Antoine Le Gars, his godmother, Sharyn Sabella, his brother-in-law, Robert Plested and other close friends. Paul attended LSU and was a proud member of Tiger Band. After school, he resided in Seattle, Washington for several years to be closer to his big sister. There he worked as a commercial driver and moved up to managing the entire fleet. He later became a long-distance truck driver, traveling across the country and often visiting his sister and niece along the way. Eventually, he settled into a long career at Court of Two Sisters in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he worked as a server and bartender for nearly 20 years. He took pride in his work and always put care into what he did. In his free time, Paul loved to read, watch films and shows, and he enjoyed sharing moments with his close friends and family. He had a deep appreciation for good food and was always a bit of a gourmand. He will be remembered for his kindness and the way he showed up for the people in his life. His memory will always be held close by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Catholic Mass at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001 on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:00pm. The visitation will begin at 1:30pm. Interment will be private.
