Paul Keszler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 17, 2025.
Pál ("Paul") Dezso Keszler died on April 16, 2025, at the age of 95, in Coal Grove, Ohio. Paul was born on August 27, 1929 to Dezso and Matild (Ébrey) Keszler in Budapest, Hungary. His parents and his sisters-Sr. Susanne Keszler, S.A.C., and Maria (Keszler) Dittman-preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Dittman of Newport News, VA; two nieces, Susanna Dittman Kelley and Veronica Dittman Stanich; and numerous relations in Hungary. Paul received technical training in auto mechanics while a refugee in Germany, prior to coming to the U.S. with his family in 1952. For decades, Paul ran his own auto shop, Keszler Car Service, specializing in imported foreign cars. Some local residents would trust only him with their Volkswagens and Mercedes! Paul was kind and easygoing, and a good friend to many. He enjoyed chess, reading, animals, gardening, travel, and socializing with his dear friends in Huntington. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntington. He lived in Huntington until he moved into an assisted living facility in 2020. He participated in the Marshall University Human Gift Registry; a private celebration of Paul's life will be held at a later date. He would have appreciated any donations made in his memory to the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Control Shelter.
