Paul Stanley (Stan) Kindig, aged 97, passed away on July 20, 2025, in Lancaster, CA. Born on December 23, 1927, in Hastings, Nebraska, he was a respected and cherished member of the community.
Stan served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953, demonstrating a commitment to his country during a pivotal time in history. Following his military service, Stan embarked on a distinguished career as an alfalfa farmer in the Antelope Valley, where he worked from 1955 until his retirement in 1998. His dedication to agriculture was recognized when he was twice named "Alfalfa King" at the Antelope Valley Fair.
Beyond his professional life, Stan was a passionate enthusiast of vintage Indian motorcycles and classic cars. He also obtained his private pilot's license, spending many hours soaring the skies, a testament to his adventurous spirit.
Stan was a devout member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church since 1955, where he actively participated in church activities and formed lasting relationships with fellow congregants.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Kindig; his children, Stephen Kindig (Lisa), Mark Kindig (Diana), Julie Kindig, Gaylin Schmitz (Walt), and Gina Sylvies (Steve). Stan also leaves behind a legacy through his 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Stan was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria (Holdcroft) Kindig, and grandson, Brandon Mitchell.
A memorial service will be held on August 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lancaster United Methodist Church, 918 West Ave J, Lancaster, CA, 93534.
