Deacon Paul Vernon Lambert, age 74 of Cairo IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 at his residence in Cairo. He was born on September 1, 1950, to the late Hobert and Mary Louise Lambert. Paul was raised in Cairo IL and received his education from the Cairo School District. Paul was a lifelong resident of Cairo and a pillar of his community. At an early age, he confessed Christ as his personal savior was baptized and became a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of Cairo. His faith and trust in God guided his life and allowed him to be an example for his family, friends, and all who encountered him. Paul was ordained as a deacon on April 11, 2021. He was a pillar of the church, known for his unwavering faith, his willingness to help others and his commitment to his ministry. He faithfully served as a deacon, visiting the sick, comforting the bereaved, and supporting the church's mission and was a faithful servant of God offering his time and talents to the church for over 30 years.

Paul was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his children. He was a generous and kind man who always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
His parents Hobert and Mary Louise Lambert, his daughter Nicole Nelson, his wife Bessie Mai Lambert, three sisters Diane Lambert, Patricia Ann Lambert-Hill and Dorothy Louise Lambert- Spivey, preceded Paul in death.
Services for Paul V. Lambert will take place on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo, IL. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Ellis, Sr. Officiating. The final resting place will be held following the service at the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Villa ridge, IL.
