Paul T. Lewis
September 5, 1942 – February 24, 2025
Paul T. Lewis, 82, of Delran, NJ, passed away on February 24, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Earl Thomas Lewis and Virginia Lewis (née Cole), Paul lived a life dedicated to family, hard work, and service.
He was the beloved husband of nearly 56 years to Virginia Lewis (née Buck) and a devoted father to Gregory Lewis, Darren Lewis (Hannah), and Kimberly Reilly (Chris). He was an adoring "Pop-Pop" to Jordan Lewis, Harriet Lewis, Axel Reilly, and Raven Reilly. Paul is also survived by his loving siblings, David Earl Lewis (Larissa), Marilyn McLochlin (Craig), and Cheryl Umbeck (John), along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paul attended Neshaminy High School, where he was a member of the track and swim teams, later remaining active in organizing class reunions. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. A true patriot, Paul had a deep love for his country and took great pride in decorating with flags each Flag Day.
A dedicated mechanical engineer, Paul earned his bachelor's degree from Temple University and remained a loyal supporter of Temple's sports teams. Throughout his career, he worked at various nuclear power plants, known for his strong work ethic and commitment.
Paul was deeply involved in his children's activities, never missing a soccer or baseball game or a swim meet. He coached Delran Little League AA baseball and volunteered with the YMCA Indian Guides and Princess program, creating lasting memories through camping trips and family adventures.
Later in life, Paul and Virginia enjoyed their bowling leagues, and traveling, especially river cruises and trips down the Jersey Shore. He was known for his ability to fix anything, his love of working outdoors, tending to his vegetable garden, and training for 5Ks. A dedicated Philadelphia sports fan, he rarely missed an Eagles or Phillies game.
Paul's faith and community were important to him. As a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, he served as an usher, trustee, and a member of the property committee.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, 101 Bridgeboro Road, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, and will be live streamed on the following link: www.fpcmoorestown.org/live-stream
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown Capital Fund or by planting a tree in his memory.
Paul's legacy of love, service, and dedication will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
