Paul Allen Long

Paul Allen Long, 87, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born on November 30, 1937, in Adell, Oklahoma, Paul lived a life marked by service, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community.
Paul began his distinguished career in public service as a police officer with the Midwest City Police Department in 1967. Over the course of more than two decades, he rose through the ranks to retire as Captain in 1990.
His commitment to protecting and serving others did not end there. From 1990 to 2000, he continued his law enforcement journey with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department. Even after retiring from law enforcement, Paul remained active in his community by working as a school bus driver for Mid-Del Schools from 2000 until 2023-a testament to his enduring dedication to the safety and well-being of others.
Throughout his life, Paul was known for his genuine spirit and servant's heart. He was a steadfast provider and protector who always put the needs of his family first. His love was wholehearted and unconditional, and his laughter-warm and infectious-left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Paul never met a stranger; his kindness and openness drew people in effortlessly. To know him truly was to love him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Faye Long; brothers; Gene, Carl, and Jim, his wives, Marcheta and Edna Long; and his grandson Justin Scott.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughters: Glenda (Michael)Forkey; Brenda (Chuck) Ligon; Paula (Bo) Peeler; and Christy (Robert) Scott.
His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Michelle (BJ) Goodnight; Steven (Emily) Ligon; Allen (Katlyn) Ligon; Aaron (Ariel) Peeler; Amanda Vigil; Angel (Zac) Head; Matthew (Baleigh) Scott; Matt
Ratcliff and Hannah Scott.
Paul's great-grandchildren include Brandt Goodnight; Keith, Conley, Canaan, Claire, Kayte, and Cary Ligon; Wyatt Ligon; Braden Peeler; Noah Hibbard, Adam and Lucas Head; Scarlett and Abel Vigil; and Deacon and Griffin Scott.
A funeral service honoring Paul's life will be held on May 6, 2025, at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 pm located at 1820 S Douglas Blvd., Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Paul Allen Long's legacy is one of selfless service, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion to those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
