Paul "Mac" William MacLuskie, 77, of Deptford, New Jersey, originally from Millville, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, surrounded by the love and presence of his family after a long and courageous battle.
Legacy
Born on December 26, 1947, in Millville, Paul grew up with deep South Jersey roots and a strong sense of community. He graduated from Millville High School, earned his Bachelor's degree from Hiram Scott College, and completed his Master's degree at Glassboro State College. Education became both his calling and his legacy.
For 40 years, Paul taught Health and Physical Education in the Millville School District, touching the lives of countless students. He also devoted many years to coaching football, track, and basketball - though football remained his greatest passion throughout his career. On and off the field, he was known for his energy, his fairness, and the way he pushed each student and athlete to believe in themselves. As many who loved him would say, "He didn't break the mold - he was the mold."
Paul cherished the simple and meaningful joys of life: family, friends, football, and good food. His presence was steady, warm, and unforgettable - the kind of man who shaped others simply by being himself.
Family
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynne Romaine MacLuskie; his loving daughters, Kelly Jennifer MacLuskie Ketchum (Ben), Kristy MacLuskie Mrochko (Christopher), Lisa Huepfel Lyden, and Kristy Huepfel Meyrick (Dave); and his treasured grandchildren, Brayden, Andrew, and Brian Patrick Mrochko, and Mia and Mackenzie Meyrick. He is also survived by his brother, James MacLuskie (Denise) and a wide circle of family, former students, athletes, and friends who will carry his memory forward. He always had a lap to share with his furry companions, including Macie and Murphy.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Helen "Betty" MacLuskie; his father, William MacLuskie; and his brother, Robert MacLuskie.
