Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we gather here today to celebrate the life and legacy of my beloved soon to be husband, Paul Gavin McCaleb, also know as Paullee, Originated from Key West, Florida. Paul graced this world on April 1st, 1981, and departed from us far too soon on June 10th, 2025. At his home in Fort Belknap, At 44 years of age, Paul's journey was brief, yet his impact was profound and everlasting.
Paul was a man whose heart was as vast and generous as the horizons he loved to explore. Paul was a man of many talents and passions. He earned two degrees, pursued his love for culinary arts at culinary school, his passion for cooking was evident in the way he could transform simple ingredients into a feast of flavors. I fondly remember a day when he prepared my favorite meal, steak and asparagus with onions, a meal seasoned not just with spices, but with love and care, Paullee immersed himself in the beauty of nature, His love for the natural world was infectious, he had a unique affinity for rocks and crystals and collecting them. His eyes would light up with childlike wonder as he shared his discoveries, often reminding me of the beauty in the world that we often overlook. His curiosity and enthusiasm for life were contagious, and his dedication to his faith was unwavering. Paul was a moderately religious man, deeply rooted in his Christian beliefs, and was on the path to becoming a priest. His spiritual journey was a testament to his commitment to living a life of service and love.
Among Paul's greatest joys were his love for the outdoors and his passion for animals. Whether he was camping, swimming, Reading, or simply singing hymns, his heart was always open to the wonders of creation. Animals, it seemed, recognized his gentle spirit and returned his affection in kind. Paul's love for his furry companions, especially Gizmo also known as Gizzy, was a reflection of his boundless capacity for kindness. He had extraordinary ability to connect with all creatures. Animals loved him as much as he loved them, and our cherished dog, Gizzy was no exception. His love extended beyond pets to all kinds of Gods creations, a testament to his kind and gentle spirit.
One of my most cherished memories with Paul dates back to the first week we spent together. He had every day meticulously planned-a testament to his thoughtfulness and care. We took long walks, enjoyed picnics, and marveled at the beauty of nature. On one of these walks, we were graced by the presence of a deer and a rare sighting of a fox, moments Paul held dear. He introduced me to his church family, and we all shared a meal with the Elder Smiths, a couple dear to his heart. Paul's love for museums shone brightly as he guided me through exhibits, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for fossils and crystals, he would passionately recount stories about them sharing his favorites with me. He would also show me his costumes and pictures of him in his costumes, telling me stories about him walking around in Zortman with his Sasquatch costume he told me he made sure to put a orange vest on. Paullee enjoyed dressing up as big foot, Santa clause, and an alien. These moments were filled with joy and wonder. Paullee's joy was infectious, and his company was a gift I will forever cherish.
He is Survived by Maciah Talks Different(Fiancé), Gizmo(his dog), Mackenzie Manuel(Adopted daughter) Kathy Davis(Adopted as older sister), Brenda Essert(Adopted mother), Nonie Essert( Adopted sister), Landyn BigLeggings ( adopted son) All his Church family.
