Paul Franklin McDaniel

Paul Franklin McDaniel, age 71, passed away October 9, 2022. He was born May 19, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Merle and Betty (nee Steinmetz) McDaniel.
Paul dedicated his life to helping others. He served 10 years in the US Navy; as a corpsman during the Vietnam War and also as a Navy SEAL. Paul later became a nurse. He thoroughly enjoyed patient care, working with dialysis patients for 30 years with Fresenius Medical Care. Paul never met a stranger-he could talk to anyone, and was known as the ultimate jokester. He had an affinity for animals, and they for him. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He also enjoyed volunteering at Heartland Community Church.
Paul will be cherished by all who knew him, especially his wife of 25 years, Judith (nee Soltis); children, Christopher McDaniel, Mark (Emily) McDaniel, and Jennifer (Scott) Sloan; stepchildren, Seth (Diana) Karabinus, Gregory Karabinus, Elaine Karabinus, and Jamie (Dana) Karabinus; grandchildren, Nola, Elena, Angela, Scottie, Sammy, Brandon, Cassandra, Jason, Alex and "Oreo"; and sister, Valerie (Tim) Kohut. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff, and sister, Cathy.
The family will welcome guests from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, with a memorial service at 11:00 am. Paul will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville.
